Are Aussies really at fault ??????

I was thinking of bloging for some time but couldn't get a right topic to write.... Finally found a topic which I identify with and strongly feel about..


There have been a number of 'allegedly racist attacks' in Australia & especially in & around Melbourne against Indian men.While the Indian media & government are busy bashing the Australian government, people, & police; they have failed to analyse the core factors or issues leading to these attacks. The Indian media & government have termed the nature of these attacks Racist, so my question is if these attacks are racist in nature... why only Indian men have been targeted? why only rural men of India have been targeted? why men from Punjab and Andhara pradesh have been targeted? & above all why there is not a single attack on Indian women or girls???


Indian media & government is asking Australian government & police answers for these attacks without realising that we need to answer & address them ourselves.


India is a patriarchal society & men are chauvinist in nature. Men from rural India, Punjab and Andhara pradesh are people who have been brought up by their families where they have been encouraged to misbehave with women & it is their right to do so. According to these societies & families it is always women's mistake if she is raped, sexually harassed or molested & it is culturally & traditionally supported. To top it all most of these men come from wealthy families with no respect for women, no etiquettes & have loads of disrespect for other cultures & traditions of the world.


The attitudes of these men is further encouraged & enhanced by Hollywood movies where sex is glorified and blown out of proportion.Hollywood movies indirectly pass on the message that white women are very casual with sex & they would sleep with any man they come across.


When these men leave Indian shores with pretext of education they are looking for fun & sex. The moment they in Australia they see women in short skirts, bikini in beaches, people snogging & they tend to stare at them, passing rude comments on women in their first language, talking aloud which is not appreciated by the local people. So when men behave like this what kind of treatment they deserve.. I would do the same what Aussies have done.... being a women.. Just becoz Indian society supports them doesn't mean Australian society must also support these men...


Further mocking at young Aussies that they can't afford expensive gadgets is not a good behaviour displayed by Indian men.


I do agree with Ms. Sushi Das who is a senior writer with Age Australia. I agree with views in her article: It's simple: India doesn't want to see its citizens harmed when S.M. Krishna said 'heinous crime against humanity'' but to suggest something along the lines of genocide was simply ridiculous. Our own politicians, police men & media watched a police man bleed to dead in front them; isn't it a 'heinous crime against humanity''? Mr. S.M. Krishna... Indians & Indian society don't respect their own life themselves so its improper to ask some else to respect our life..


I am forced to think Indian government is sensationalising the issue merely because Australian Government refused to sell Uranium to India as pointed by Ms.Sushi Das because thousands & lakhs of Indian labours are toiling in gulf countries without proper wages, exposed to emotional abuse, exploitation and physical abuse but our government doesn't show the same indignance towards gulf governments which is staggering... is it becoz India makes too much money out of that trade? ( this was pointed out Aussies in their comments on Ms. Das article).


Yes, I do agree with one of the people who made a comment on the article.. Melbourne may have seen increased crime rate, mugging and anti-social activities; its time local government pay attention towards anti-social elements.


In the meantime Indian men should learn to respect women irrespective of her dress & colour, & negative perception towards other countries cultures and traditions needs to change,. Lastly, our society needs to change its stand on rape, sexually harassment or molestation. In short we need to re learn to be civilised.
